What is the process for creating a custom website?
First, we will assess your needs and preferences in a website questionnaire. We will use this questionnaire to determine specifically what services are needed for your business. Then we will set up a website hosting service to start developing your website. Next, we will draft a graphic template of your chosen design. During this stage of our process (mock-up phase), you will have the opportunity to provide feedback and make additional modifications to the look and feel of your website. After we receive your approval, we will start converting the template into the actual website (build phase). The final stages involve launching the LIVE version of your website for the world to see and maintaining the website with routine updates.
PLEASE NOTE: We at DKL Web Design refuse to build websites that are pornographic, exploitative, hate-filled or anti-religious. What do I do to start building my website?
To start building your website, you would need the following:
Domain Name: A domain name is actually the name of your website. For example, dklwebdesign.com is our domain name. Domain registration is included in most of our website plans.
Web Hosting Service: A web hosting service stores all your website files so that other people can see your website.
Web Designer: A web designer is a company like DKL Web Design who will create and develop the ideal website for you or your business.

Will I have ownership of my website?
Yes. All websites and domain names created, designed and built by DKL Web Design are owned entirely by YOU. Although we have yet to have a client move their website to another web design company, you do have the authority to do so at any time.

How long does it normally take to build a website?
The time to build a website will vary based on the type of website plan you have chosen. DKL Web Design has a ten business day guarantee on both the mock-up stage and the build stage or you get $50 off your design fee.

Do you design and develop websites only in Atlanta GA?
Although we prefer to work with clients locally, we can accommodate travels outside the Atlanta metro area. Most clients are fine with telephone meetings.

Can you write the content of my new website?
Absolutely! For an additional fee, we can write the content of your website for you. If you decide to furnish your own website content, we can edit your content for correct sentence structure, misspelled words, and/or grammar mistakes.

Can you update my current website with different images and/or photos?
Yes. If we update your existing website, we just need to contact your past or current web hosting service to get some additional information. This information may include access to your hosting account, domain name, logo files, or any content on your current website. Once we have this, we will design your website to your expectations.
We have access to royalty-free high-resolution stock images and photos that we can use in your web design. In some cases, a suitable image and/or photo may not be available.

How much does an average website cost?
It depends on your specific needs and many other factors, such as the number of pages, website style, copywriting, or Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Many design companies do not display their prices online. But at DKL Web Design, we want to be the web design company that offers transparency. Will I find my website on search engines such as Google©, Yahoo©, and Bing©?
We will index your website by optimizing key items such as title tags, local directory listings, anchor links, and relevant keywords.
Although many businesses and organizations would prefer their website to be placed high in major search engine algorithms, the search engine results are determined by many constantly changing factors. Some of these factors include third-party search engines and the amount of competition on the Internet. Therefore, we cannot guarantee your website will be placed high in major search engines. However, we do guarantee that we will use search engine-friendly techniques when we build your website.

Do you have website maintenance plans?

Do I have to stay with DKL Web Design to keep my website active?
No. If you decide to cancel your service with us, we will help you transfer your domain name, website files, databases, etc. to your new web hosting location. However, we are sure you will be completely satisfied with our services. Just look at some of our testimonials.

Can I see how many people have visited my website?
Sure. We can display a "website visitation" counter to your website. This counter will keep track of all visitors who have visited your website.

How will you keep my website secure?
If DKL Web Design is hosting your website, we will incorporate anti-hacking procedures to deter malicious behavior from attackers.
PLEASE NOTE: It is the client's responsibility to update his/her own personal computer to prevent viruses and other harmful activities from attacking your computer. DKL Web Design cannot be held accountable for this action.

What is your payment policy?
We accept cash, money orders, most major credit cards, and payments via PayPal©.
At least one-half of the initial website design fees are due upon the start of the project. The remaining balance is due in full within ten business days of project completion. The completed website will be moved from the initial development stage onto a LIVE server, once the remaining balance is paid in full. If your website plan includes Search Engine Optimization (SEO), we will also register your site with Google©, Yahoo©, and Bing© search engines.
Payment for "renewable" services such as domain registration and web hosting are due to net 20.
PLEASE NOTE: Some clients choose special features or services from third-party vendors such as PayPal©. These vendors sometimes have other payment policies entirely different from ours. DKL Web Design is not responsible for third-party vendor procedures or policies.

Do you have a Terms of Service and Privacy Policy?
Absolutely. Our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy documents state that, unless required by law or requested by you, DKL Web Design will never share your information with third parties. The information we collect from you will be used to maintain your services with us and to represent the quality of our work to others, such as on our online portfolio section.
